          Emily Rose (Dyches) Pugmire was born in 1979 in St. Lous, MO.  She has always had the desire to create and is grateful for supportive parents who allowed her to paint on her bedroom walls as a child.  After serving a mission in New Zealand from 2001-2002, she gained a strong desire to express her experiences through art.  When she returned home she focused her efforts on learning the fine art of oil painting.  This decision catapulted her into a series of  opportunities that continues to bless her life. In 2008 she met her sweetheart Jared Pugmire while participating in Plein Air painting competitions in Utah.

          Emily’s takes great pride in making her work inviting and pleasing to the eye.  Many of her paintings have spawned from personal experiences and have a sense of depth and symbolism within them. She has participated in a number of competitions and art shows throughout the Western States where she has received awards and recognition.  She is currently working on a commissioned piece which will be on tour as part of the “Art of the Resoration” exhibit later this year.  The website including information on this exhibit is: www.artoftherestoration.info/

Formal Training:  Emily holds a BFA degree in Illustration from BYU.  In 2007 she studied Drawing and Plein Air Painting at the Florence Academy of Art in Italy. She has been mentored by and worked with the classical realist master Joseph Brickey and assisted him with 6 large multi-figural/landscape murals in the Copenhagen, Denmark LDS temple.  She has studied and copied the Classical Masters and regularly gives private oil painting lessons with this background and experience.

Publications: Emily’s publisher/distributor is Altus Fine Art, located in American Fork, UT.  They sell her prints in a wide variety of stores, including Costco, Deseret Book, and Seagull Book & Tape.  Her artwork has been published in several books through Covenant Communications.  She now has a studio in Provo and sells her work through Gate City Fine Arts and Bela Gallery.
 
REBECCA LEE PEERY         

"Quakies in American Fork"
  

Saturday May 1, 2010  Bela Gallery will be featuring Rebecca Lee Peery.  Rebecca will be in the gallery from 11:00 - 2:00 p.m. mentoring a young high school artist. come and observe  as she works on a new piece and helps a young artist develop something they are working on.
It is Bela Gallerys goal to have our fine professional artists mentor our young merging artists.  If you are a high school art student be sure and get your name to your art teacher if you want to be considered for one
of our Saturday mentorships.

                                                             REBECCA LEE PEERY
Rebecca was born in Holy City, California in 1957 the fifth child of what would eventually become a family of 17 children. At an early age she moved with her family to the Bitterroot Valley of Montana.

As a young child she loved coloring and sketching, recognizing her ability, at the age of 13 her mother, put her in painting classes. Her skills and love of art continued to develop through years of painting, college classes and artist, teachers and mentors. Rebecca has developed her own style from bits and pieces of her life’s experiences. She is passionate about touching the lives of other in a positive way with God given talents.

In painting her Missionary Art, Rebecca hopes to portray the commitment and determination of these young men who devote two years of their years to what they believe in. Missionaries and their service has been a great source of inspiration to her.

She recently became involved with the Koins for Kenya charity donating several original pieces of art for auction. This charity is improving their water system, building schools and bettering the ways of life for small villages and the less fortunate people of Kenya. Her love for and desire to help these people has highly motivated  and inspired her work.

She is the mother of six children, four step-children and many grandchildren who are the subject of some of her favorite pieces. She now resides in Payson, Utah with her supportive husband Hal, as her biggest fan,encourages her in her work
